1st Shift – Forklift Operator, $17/hr – New Haven, IN
Be a part of a fast-paced E-Commerce company that values teamwork, efficiency, and employee growth. In this position, you will handle and organize large volumes of freight shipments while ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate a forklift to load, unload, and move freight.
- Verify, organize, and stage all incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Use computer systems for processing paperwork, including shipping requirements, packing slips, bills of lading, bar codes, and related documentation.
- Prepare shipments and coordinate scheduling to meet customer requirements.
- Perform bi-weekly cycle counts and monthly inventory of finished goods and in-process materials; document results accurately.
- Follow unique customer shipping requirements and ensure compliance with company standards.
- Participate in corrective actions, preventative measures, and continuous improvement projects.
- Conduct dock audits and maintain detailed records.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Proven forklift operating experience; certification preferred.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
- Proficiency with basic computer tasks and documentation.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs regularly and occasionally move items over 100 lbs.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and safety awareness.
- Ability to read, understand, and follow instructions in English.
- High School Diploma or GED (preferred) with 6 months to 1 year of related experience or training.
