Job Summary
Are you a motivated and detail-oriented individual looking for a new opportunity? We're seeking a Forklift Operator to join our team in
Walker, Mi.
In this role, you'll be a vital part of our operations, helping us keep production running smoothly by safely moving materials and maintaining accurate inventory in a food manufacturing environment.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Forklift Operator, your core responsibilities will include:
- Material Handling: Safely operate forklifts and other equipment to move raw materials, packaging, and finished goods, ensuring efficient workflow throughout the facility.
- Loading & Unloading: Load and unload trucks while verifying product counts, condition, and documentation to support accurate shipping and receiving.
- Production Support: Stage materials for production lines to prevent downtime and maintain consistent manufacturing operations.
In addition, you will also be expected to utilize the ERP system to track inventory movements, follow FIFO and lot traceability requirements, and maintain a clean and organized workspace in compliance with GMP standards.
What We're Looking For
To be successful in this role, you should have the following:
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Valid forklift certification or ability to become certified
- Previous forklift experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment preferred
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on your feet throughout the shift
Skills:
- Attention to Detail: Ensures inventory accuracy, proper documentation, and compliance with food safety standards.
- Communication Skills: Ability to effectively coordinate with supervisors and team members to keep operations running smoothly.
- Technical Proficiency: Comfortable using ERP or warehouse management systems (WMS) for tracking inventory and transactions.
