Job Summary
Workbox Staffing is hiring an experienced
Forklift Operator
for a welding and manufacturing facility in Inkster, MI. This position supports production operations by moving raw materials, welded components, and finished goods throughout the plant. Candidates
must have prior experience working in a welding or manufacturing environment.
This is a temporary-to-hire opportunity with long-term potential.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Forklift Operator, your core responsibilities will include:
- Material Handling: Operate a sit-down electric forklift to transport raw steel, welded assemblies, and finished products.
- Production Support: Stage materials for welding and fabrication teams to keep production flowing efficiently.
- Shipping & Receiving: Load and unload trucks with steel materials and manufactured components.
- Warehouse Organization: Maintain organized staging areas within a busy manufacturing facility.
In addition, you may assist with packaging finished welded products and support general shop duties as needed.
What We’re Looking For
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a welding or manufacturing environment required
- Experience operating a sit-down forklift required
- Rotator attachment experience is a plus (or willingness to learn)
- Strong attendance and reliability
Skills & Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work safely around welding operations and heavy steel materials
- Comfortable lifting and moving materials in an industrial setting
- Strong work ethic and team-oriented mindset
- Desire to grow within a manufacturing company
