Job Summary
General Foundry team members are responsible for the initial creation of iron casting molds
by making sand molds around large patterns and performing basic cleaning of castings. This is a physically demanding role in a foundry environment, ideal for individuals who enjoy hands-on work and contributing to a team-oriented production process.
Responsibilities
- Positioning core patterns for mold creation
- Packing “green sand” around the pattern to create a casting mold
- Assisting with consistent cleaning and maintenance of the work area
- Assisting with grinding, chipping, and finishing the casted mold
- Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE at all times
- Perform other duties as assigned
Key Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous experience in a foundry or industrial environment is a plus but not required.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 75 lbs.
- Ability to work in hot, dusty, and noisy environments.
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
- Willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed
- Must be reliable, punctual, and able to follow instructions
- Must be able to read, write, comprehend, and speak English
