Job Summary
Coordinate and manage freight shipments by connecting shippers with reliable carriers. This role requires strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills to ensure timely, compliant, and cost-effective transportation solutions.

Responsibilities
- Act as a liaison between shippers and carriers to coordinate and monitor freight shipments
- Match loads with qualified carriers to ensure timely pickup and delivery
- Negotiate freight rates and confirm rate agreements, bills of lading, and shipment details
- Track and update load status through delivery while maintaining proactive customer communication
- Source and onboard reliable carriers, ensuring compliance with FMCSA/DOT standards
- Maintain accurate load documentation including BOLs, PODs, rate confirmations, and invoices
- Manage relationships with carriers and customers to ensure service quality and retention
- Prospect and develop new shipper accounts through calls, networking, and referrals
- Verify carrier insurance, authority, and safety ratings before load assignment
- Utilize Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and load boards (DAT, Truckstop, 123Loadboard)
- Monitor profit margins, process invoices, and assist with collections as needed
- Adhere to company safety policies and compliance standards
Key Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in trucking or freight dispatching
- Knowledge of freight modes (LTL, FTL, intermodal, flatbed, refrigerated)
- Familiarity with FMCSA/DOT compliance and carrier qualification processes
- Proficient in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Experience with TMS, load boards, CRM systems, and GPS tracking tools
- Strong communication, negotiation, and time management skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
