. In this role, you’ll be a vital part of our logistics operations, ensuring efficient, compliant, and cost-effective freight movement by connecting shippers with reliable carriers.
What You'll Be Doing
As a
Freight Broker/Dispatcher
, your core responsibilities will include:
- Coordinating freight shipments: Acting as the primary liaison between shippers and carriers to ensure timely, successful transportation.
- Negotiating and assigning loads: Matching loads with qualified carriers and confirming rates, shipment details, and documentation.
- Tracking loads through delivery: Monitoring shipment progress to ensure on-time performance and proactive communication with customers.
In addition, you will also be expected to
source and onboard carriers, maintain accurate documentation, manage customer and carrier relationships, and support billing and collections processes
.
What We’re Looking For
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in trucking or freight dispatching
- Knowledge of freight modes (LTL, FTL, intermodal, flatbed, refrigerated)
- Familiarity with FMCSA/DOT regulations and carrier qualification
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and TMS/load board systems
Skills:
- Strong communication and negotiation skills: Essential for coordinating shipments and building trust with carriers and customers.
- Problem-solving abilities: Important for resolving disruptions quickly and maintaining service quality.
- Technical proficiency: Needed for navigating TMS platforms, load boards (DAT, Truckstop, 123Loadboard), CRM systems, and GPS tracking tools.
