3rd shift Fabricator, $16.50/hr - Clare, MI
Job Summary:
A local Clare company who manufactures (describe what the company does without displaying the business name) is looking for a qualified candidate to fill a Fabricator position. The Fabricator will be assisting with the fabrication of products by performing necessary operating functions on drill presses, vertical mill, belt sander, pines bender, saws, lathes, and presses. He/She will also help with positioning parts according to work orders, routing, prints, and knowledge of the product being fabricated, as well as recording all labor and downtime and documenting information pertaining to each work order and routing. The Fabricator will ensure that the fit, function, and appearance of parts are at, or exceed, standards, and will follow all company safety rules to provide a clean, accident-free, and healthy work environment. They will also confer with team or crew leaders on any problems regarding safety, quality, production, or inventory. Essential Duties and Responsibilities of Fabricator position:
● Positions parts according to the work order, routing, prints and knowledge of the product being fabricated.
● Performs drilling, sanding, punching, and cutting.
● Records all labor and downtime, documenting all information pertaining to each work order and routing.
● Assures that the fit, function, and appearance of parts are at, or exceed standards.
● Follows all company safety rules to provide a clean, accident-free, and healthy work environment.
● Confers with the team or crew leaders on any problems regarding safety, quality, production, or inventory.
● Additional duties may be assigned as required. Job Requirements of Fabricator position:
- Ability to work safely and adhere to company safety rules.
● Good communication skills to confer with team or crew leaders.
● Ability to follow work orders, routings, and prints accurately.
● Attention to detail for assuring part quality.
● Ability to track and document labor and downtime.
Qualifications for Fabricator position:
● High School diploma or equivalent.
● Must possess basic math skills.
● Ability to read a tape measure.
● Ability to read, analyze and interpret the English language.
● Frequent use of hands for tools.
● Agility of the upper and lower body extremities with the ability to reach, crouch, kneel, or stoop.
● Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
● Capable of lifting 50 pounds regularly and up to 75 pounds on occasion.
Preferred Experience:
Abilities to read and interpret blueprints. Let’s go to work!
