General Labor
Location: Battle Creek, MI
Shift: 1st Shift, Monday–Friday
Pay: $16.00–$18.00 per hour
Job Summary
Are you a dependable and motivated individual looking for a hands‑on role? We’re seeking a General Laborer to join our team in Battle Creek, MI. In this position, you’ll support daily warehouse and recycling operations, assist with material handling, and help maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work environment. This is a fast‑paced role that requires teamwork, physical stamina, and strong attention to detail.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a General Laborer, your responsibilities will include:
- Operating material‑handling equipment such as a Hi‑Lo to move products and materials throughout the facility.
- Assisting with shipping and receiving tasks, including documentation, labeling, and inventory checks.
- Loading and unloading trucks and containers while following safe lifting practices.
- Working as part of a team to sort, organize, and recycle totes and other materials.
- Feeding and loading a baler with cardboard, plastics, and other recyclable materials.
- Handling materials with care to prevent damage, contamination, or safety hazards.
- Performing routine equipment checks and basic maintenance to ensure safe operation.
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work area at all times.
What We’re Looking For
Qualifications:
- Previous warehouse, recycling, or distribution experience preferred but not required.
- Ability to bend, stoop, lift, and carry heavy items throughout the shift.
- Experience operating material‑handling equipment (Hi‑Lo, pallet jacks, etc.).
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. safely and consistently.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to following all safety guidelines and procedures.
- Flexibility to work various shifts if needed.
