Job Summary
The role involves operating and maintaining cutting equipment, following safety procedures, and ensuring efficient production in a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and able to work in a fast-paced setting.
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain cutting equipment (e.g., saws, machines)
- Perform daily startup and shutdown procedures
- Ensure safety devices are functioning properly
- Cut materials per engineering specifications
- Inspect components for defects and report issues
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Assist with loading/unloading machines, inventory management, and minor maintenance
- Help in other departments (e.g., Shipping and Receiving, Powder Coating) as needed
Key Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Background in fabrication or metalworking
- Experience operating equipment (e.g., band saws, grinders, drill press)
- Ability to read mechanical drawings and follow directions
- Basic algebra and geometry skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Skills
- Experience with project planning and management
- Record-keeping and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Familiarity with safety practices and procedures
- Ability to perform minor maintenance and repairs on equipment
