Grinder Location: Brighton, MI Shift: 1st, 2nd, or 3rd Available Pay: Based on Experience Job Summary Are you an experienced Grinder looking for an opportunity to work in a precision machining environment? We are seeking a skilled Grinder to join our team in Brighton, MI. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up and operating OD grinding machines to produce precision components while maintaining tight tolerances and meeting customer specifications. The ideal candidate has experience with manual grinding machines, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to producing high-quality work. What You'll Be Doing As a Grinder, your core responsibilities will include: Set up and operate manual OD grinding machines according to blueprints and work specifications. Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and indicators to verify dimensions and surface finish. Select the appropriate grinding wheels and tooling based on material type and job requirements. Adjust machine settings, including wheel speed, feed rates, and cutting depth, to achieve quality results. Monitor machine operation and make adjustments to maintain product quality and tight tolerances. Perform routine preventive maintenance and basic troubleshooting on grinding equipment. Document production activities, inspections, and material usage. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while following all safety procedures and PPE requirements. Collaborate with team members to meet production schedules and quality expectations. Perform additional duties as assigned. What We're Looking For To be successful in this role, you should have the following: Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED required. Previous experience operating manual OD grinding machines required. Strong knowledge of grinding techniques, tooling, and materials. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods throughout the shift. Skills: Experience using precision measuring tools including micrometers, calipers, and indicators. Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Excellent attention to detail with the ability to maintain tight tolerances. Basic knowledge of machine maintenance and equipment care. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Strong communication and organizational skills. Why Join Us?
