Grinder (Finish Room)

Job Summary
Are you a motivated and detail-oriented individual looking for a new opportunity? We're seeking a Grinder
to join our team in Norton Shores, MI. In this role, you'll be an essential part of the production process, helping to ensure high-quality metal parts are produced and finished to meet exacting standards.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Grinder, your core responsibilities will include:
- Grinding, sanding, and polishing parts: Smooth and finish metal pieces to correct defects and meet production standards.
- Inspecting finished workpieces: Verify the quality of each piece through visual and measured inspection.
- Measuring and marking materials: Ensure parts meet specifications and tolerances before final processing.
In addition, you will also be expected to load metal ingots into furnaces, skim slag from molten metal, and safely pour molten metal into sand molds using hand ladles or overhead monorails.
What We’re Looking For
To be successful in this role, you should have the following:
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Foundry and/or molding experience is a plus
- Ability to verify part quality through inspection and measurement
- Ability to lift and handle materials safely in a production environment
Skills:
- Attention to detail: Ensures precision and consistency when grinding and finishing parts.
- Organizational and time management skills: Keeps work areas clean, efficient, and on schedule.
- Ability to follow instructions: Learns and adheres to production and safety processes.
- Stamina for repetitive tasks: Maintains focus and consistency in a fast-paced environment.
