Position Summary:
The I-9 Verification Specialist supports the Human Resources department by ensuring compliance with federal employment eligibility verification requirements. This role is responsible for reviewing, verifying, and maintaining accurate I-9 documentation for all new hires, rehires, and existing employees. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and knowledge of Form I-9 and E-Verify procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and verify Form I-9 documentation submitted by employees for completeness and accuracy.
- Ensure Section 1 and Section 2 of Form I-9 are completed in a timely manner in accordance with USCIS guidelines.
- Enter and manage data in the electronic I-9 system and E-Verify (if applicable).
- Follow up with employees or managers to correct errors or obtain missing documentation.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of personal and sensitive information.
- Support HR team with onboarding tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field preferred.
- 1+ years of experience in HR, compliance, or administrative roles preferred.
- Familiarity with Form I-9, E-Verify, and federal employment eligibility regulations a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and integrity.
