Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Industrial Sewer
to join our manufacturing team specializing in the production of upholstered chairs. This role involves operating industrial sewing machines to assemble and stitch fabric or vinyl materials used in chair upholstery. The ideal candidate has experience in sewing heavy-duty materials and working in a fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate industrial sewing machines to stitch fabric, vinyl, or leather for upholstered chairs.
- Read and follow sewing patterns, templates, or production orders.
- Measure, cut, and align materials accurately to ensure quality and consistency.
- Inspect finished pieces for quality, consistency, and defects; make necessary corrections.
- Maintain and clean sewing equipment and work area to ensure a safe and organized workspace.
- Work closely with upholstery and assembly teams to meet daily production goals.
- Report material shortages or machine malfunctions to supervisors.
- Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience operating industrial sewing machines, preferably in furniture or upholstery manufacturing.
- Ability to read and interpret patterns, blueprints, or production specs.
- Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.
- Comfortable working with heavy fabrics and sitting for extended periods.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to sit, bend, reach, and lift materials (up to 40 lbs)
- Manual dexterity and good hand-eye coordination required.
- Ability to work in a noisy manufacturing environment.
