Lamination - Machine Operator
to join our team in Byron Center, MI. In this role, you'll operate and monitor production equipment, maintain quality standards, troubleshoot machine settings, and support efficient manufacturing operations in a fast-paced environment.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Lamination - Machine Operator, your core responsibilities will include:
- Verifying equipment setup prior to the start of production runs and safely operating manufacturing equipment.
- Operating equipment such as the Pre-Expander, Mold, Lamination Line, Block Auto Line, and other assigned machinery.
- Producing parts with the correct material, density, weight, size, and shape while meeting customer specifications and productivity standards.
- Monitoring equipment performance and reporting malfunctions to supervisors.
- Troubleshooting equipment issues and making adjustments to machine settings as needed.
- Assisting with routine equipment cleaning and maintenance.
- Training new employees on machine operations and departmental procedures.
- Maintaining proper work logs and completing required production reports accurately.
- Bundling, wrapping, stacking, packing, assembling, and labeling materials according to production instructions.
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Performing additional production responsibilities as assigned.
What We're Looking For
Qualifications:
- Manufacturing or machine operator experience preferred.
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.
- Ability to push, pull, and/or lift up to 50 pounds safely.
- Ability to stand, walk, kneel, squat, climb steps or ladders, and perform repetitive movements throughout the shift.
- Ability to work in varying temperatures and manufacturing environments.
- Regular, reliable, and predictable attendance required.
- Must be trained and familiar with general safety and Quality System Awareness procedures.
Skills:
- Manufacturing Knowledge: General understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment operations, quality standards, safety requirements, and departmental procedures.
- Machine Operation: Ability to operate, monitor, troubleshoot, and adjust production equipment efficiently.
- Mechanical Aptitude: Ability to identify machine issues and make basic operational adjustments.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to verify order specifications and ensure product quality standards are met.
- Communication & Teamwork: Ability to work effectively with supervisors and team members in a production environment.
- Organization: Ability to maintain accurate production records and a clean work area.
