Production Supervisor / Maintenance Lead (Grading Line)

Position Summary
This position is responsible for ensuring efficient, cost-effective production operations while overseeing grading line performance, staff supervision, and facility maintenance. The role combines production leadership, equipment operation, and preventative maintenance to support overall plant productivity, quality, and food safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Production & Operations
- Oversee daily grading line operations to ensure optimal production output
- Understand and implement packing schedules effectively
- Monitor production quality and ensure standards are consistently met
- Maintain knowledge of apple packs and production processes
- Troubleshoot production issues and resolve them in a timely manner
- Prioritize workflow to meet deadlines and production goals
Leadership & Communication
- Supervise employees and assign job duties as needed
- Ensure proper staffing and line setup for efficient operations
- Communicate effectively with Plant Manager, Quality Control, and team members
- Coordinate between departments to maintain smooth workflow
Maintenance & Equipment
- Perform general and preventative maintenance on equipment and machinery
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and facility-related issues
- Conduct basic electrical and plumbing repairs
- Assist with outside contractors when necessary
- Maintain accurate spare parts and supply inventory
Inventory & Supplies
- Track and maintain inventory of chemicals, packing materials, and supplies
- Monitor and test chemical levels throughout the day
- Ensure proper usage and storage of materials
Food Safety & Compliance
- Follow and enforce all food safety protocols
- Implement and maintain Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
- Complete required food safety documentation and recordkeeping
Qualifications
Experience:
- Prior experience in production, manufacturing, or food processing environment preferred
- Maintenance or facilities experience strongly preferred
- Forklift experience is a plus

- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- High sense of urgency and attention to detail
- Ability to lead and manage a team effectively
