The Maintenance Technician role is responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on machinery and equipment to ensure optimal production efficiency. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems, as well as the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues promptly. Responsibilities - Operate machinery such as saws, shears, press brakes, drills, or CNC equipment to process structural steel components - Set up machines based on work orders, blueprints, and job specifications - Load and unload materials using overhead cranes or forklifts (training provided if necessary) - Monitor machine operations to detect malfunctions or irregularities and make adjustments as needed - Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting on machines - Inspect finished products for accuracy, quality, and conformance to specifications - Accurately record production data and maintain proper documentation - Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE at all times - Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth workflow and meet production goals Key Qualifications for the Maintenance Technician - High school diploma or GED required - Previous experience operating industrial machinery or working in a steel fabrication or manufacturing environment preferred - Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders - Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality - Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with hand/power tools - Able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods - Forklift and crane operation experience is a plus (certification/training can be provided) - Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious Preferred Qualifications for the Maintenance Technician - Previous welding/ fabrication experience - Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings. - Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. - Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
