Job Title Steel Fabricating Machine Op Location Kentwood, MI Pay $20+/hr Shift 1st 5:00 am to 4:00pm Monday - Friday; Overtime available on Saturday as needed 2nd 4:00pm - 3:00 am Monday - Friday; Overtime available on Saturday as needed Job Summary Workbox Staffing is looking for experienced Maintenance Technicians! The Maintenance Technician role is responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on machinery and equipment to ensure optimal production efficiency. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems, as well as the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues promptly. Responsibilities - Operate machinery such as saws, shears, press brakes, drills, or CNC equipment to process structural steel components - Set up machines based on work orders, blueprints, and job specifications - Load and unload materials using overhead cranes or forklifts (training provided if necessary) - Monitor machine operations to detect malfunctions or irregularities and make adjustments as needed - Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting on machines - Inspect finished products for accuracy, quality, and conformance to specifications - Accurately record production data and maintain proper documentation - Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE at all times - Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth workflow and meet production goals Key Qualifications for the Maintenance Technician - High school diploma or GED required - Previous experience operating industrial machinery or working in a steel fabrication or manufacturing environment preferred - Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders - Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality - Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with hand/power tools - Able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods - Forklift and crane operation experience is a plus (certification/training can be provided) - Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious Preferred Qualifications for the Maintenance Technician - Previous welding/ fabrication experience - Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings. - Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. - Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
