Pay: $20.00 – $32.00 per hour, based on experience
Job Summary
Are you a motivated and detail-oriented individual looking for a new opportunity? We're seeking a Tool Room Machinist / Maintenance Technician to join our team in Elkhart, IN. In this role, you'll be a vital part of our operations, helping maintain and repair production equipment while supporting machining needs to ensure efficiency, reliability, and quality output.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Tool Room Machinist / Maintenance Technician, your core responsibilities will include:
-Machining and tool room operations: Operate CNC lathes, manual lathes, mills, drills, and grinders to produce and repair components needed for production equipment.
-Maintenance and equipment repair: Perform routine preventative maintenance and minor electrical and mechanical repairs on machinery, facilities, and production equipment.
-Troubleshooting and process improvement: Diagnose equipment issues, recommend improvements, and support continuous improvement efforts to enhance efficiency and reduce downtime.
-In addition, you will also be expected to maintain inventory of maintenance parts and supplies, complete documentation, follow all safety and quality standards, and collaborate with team members to support overall plant operations.
What We're Looking For
To be successful in this role, you should have the following:
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 5 years of machining experience (lathe experience strongly preferred)
- At least 2 years of industrial maintenance experience or equivalent trade experience
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs occasionally
Skills:
-Machining Expertise: Strong knowledge of CNC and manual machining equipment to support tool room and production needs.
-Mechanical & Electrical Troubleshooting: Ability to diagnose and repair machinery using sound troubleshooting techniques.
-Problem-Solving & Communication: Ability to make fact-based decisions, communicate effectively, and work collaboratively in a team environment.
