CNC Machinist, up to $33.50/hr, Grass Lake, MI Are you looking for a new opportunity? Are you looking to start or continue your career in CNC Machining, which is a highly sought after skill? Duties and Responsibilities: Responsible for setting up and operating vertical and/or horizontal milling equipment Must be able to linear and contour machines details per layout direction and/or profile and contour programs Machine each job to customer standards, while keeping waste to a minimum Verification of job setups Must understand die designs Qualifications: CNC operating/programming experience If you don’t have a degree or certificate than you must have 1-2 years of manufacturing experience in automotive tooling Experience with Smirt Die Shop and Die NC for linear work experience preferred GD&T experience preferred In this position, the CNC Machinist will be responsible for setting up, programming, and operating vertical and/or horizontal milling equipme. In this role, you'll be a vital part of our operations, helping us to produce high-quality automotive components and complex tooling in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.What You'll Be DoingAs a CNC Machinist, your core responsibilities will include:Operating Large CNC Mills: Set up and operate vertical and horizontal 3- and 5-axis mills to produce automotive parts such as hoods, doors, and fenders according to specifications.Programming & Setup: Load and monitor CAM programs, set up workholding, and calculate machining parameters to ensure precision and efficiency.Quality & Safety: Use precision measuring tools to verify finished parts, deburr and finish components, and maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace.In addition, you will also be expected to support the ATC Quality System, identify opportunities for process improvement, and communicate effectively across shifts and departments.What We're Looking ForTo be successful in this role, you should have the following:Qualifications:Certified Journeyman CNC Machinist or 5+ years of experience in large mill operations, with 4+ years in automotive tooling5-axis (3+2) machining experience on large automotive mills (4–12m)Experience with Fanuc or Heidenhain controllers and programming using G-codeAbility to read and interpret GD&T, drawings, and die designsSMIRT experience and own tools are a plusSkills:Problem-Solving: Identify and troubleshoot issues during machining to ensure quality standards are met.Teamwork: Collaborate effectively with colleagues across shifts and departments.Multitasking: Manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.Why Join Us?This is an excellent opportunity for both short-term and long-term employment.
