Purpose of Job The Maintenance Support Technician is responsible for purchasing, controlling, stocking, and staging spare parts to keep the department organized and efficient. They will assist in the development and implementation of preventative and predictive maintenance and achieving KPI’s. During which they will have the opportunity learn the Maintenance Technician trade including, but not limited to on-the-job training, formal onsite training, and destination training at 3rd party facilities or within the tesa Global Network. 3. Dimensions/Key Figures (2021): - KPIs: Technical Downtime, Runtime Deviation, (Future Focus on Spare Parts Inventory Accuracy, Spend vs Budget) 4. Immediate Subordinated Posts/organizational chart N/A 5. Principal Accountabilities/Main functions Maintenance Purchaser Indirect purchasing for the maintenance department. Completes requisition process for parts and services. Organize and control inventory of the maintenance shop and maintenance storage areas both in the physical locations as well as the inventory management system. Identifies and establishes contact with vendors/contractors to obtain quotes for spare parts and/or service. Preventative Maintenance Organize and prepare team for preventative maintenance according to PM schedule Stage parts for maintenance PM’s and work orders Assist with PM’s and repairs Base Level Maintenance Technician Troubleshoot equipment, adjust, and calibrate machines; remove, replace, and/or repair broken machinery parts. Attend training courses for specific maintenance related topics. Perform other duties as assigned Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair hydraulic and pneumatic devices. Performs other related duties as required. 6. Beneficial Skills/Functions Conduct chemical tests and additions for water treatment monitoring and audits. Operate boilers, cooling towers; and cooling loops. Basic PLC skills. Machine precise fittings of bearings, keyways. Threading pipe. Operate tool room equipment to produce or repair machine parts. Background of machine repair and machining. Basic electrical safety troubleshooting. Basic HVAC knowledge. Able to read blueprints, schematics, and diagrams. Maintenance parts familiarity. Knowledge of manufacturing equipment and processes. 7. Required Qualifications High School diploma or GED. Strong mechanical aptitude and maintenance related experience, such as replacing shafts and bearings. Electrical troubleshooting skills. Welding experience preferred. PC proficient (Microsoft Outlook and Excel). Willing and able to: obtain a working knowledge of SAP, Ariba and other purchasing and inventory management systems. obtain fork-truck and lift licenses. learn on your own as well as recognize when additional help is necessary. prioritize multiple tasks. Great communication skills, both written and verbal. Contribute to the continuous improvement of tesa tape processes Possess a positive attitude and willingness to embrace change Work independently or in a team concept; be self-motivated; be cross-functional to work in other areas Keep work areas clean and organized Must be able to work within the framework of 6S, ISO, and IATF requirements. 8. Required Working Conditions Work in a fast-paced environment, while being able to make sound decisions. Must be willing and able to: Lift and carry 50 lbs without assistance Walk throughout scheduled shift Work at heights up to 30 feet Travel to other facilities, vendors, and training locations Crawl, sit, kneel, and work in uncomfortable positions Use your hands and fingers. Reaching with hands/arms throughout shift. Work in Class 1 Division 1 and 2 hazardous locations Work outside in all weather conditions at times Must be willing to adjust schedule, work weekends and support after hours emergencies as needed. Ability and willingness to obtain forklift and lift equipment licenses. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work independently or as part of a team. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to maintain clean, organized work areas. Skills: Mechanical & Maintenance: Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of manufacturing equipment, machine repair, and preventative maintenance. Technical Skills: Basic PLC, electrical, HVAC, hydraulic, and pneumatic knowledge, with the ability to read blueprints and schematics. Machining & Fabrication: Familiarity with bearings, keyways, pipe threading, and machining equipment. Facility Operations: Basic knowledge of water treatment, boilers, cooling towers, and cooling systems. Organization & Communication: Strong organizational, communication, and inventory management skills.
