Are you a hands-on maintenance professional who enjoys troubleshooting and repairing industrial equipment? We are hiring an Industrial Maintenance Technician
to support Trystar’s production facility in Madison Heights, MI. In this role, you will perform preventative maintenance, diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, and support facility and equipment reliability in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
What You’ll Be Doing
As an Industrial Maintenance Technician, your core responsibilities will include:
● Equipment Troubleshooting:
Diagnose and repair Trystar equipment with minimal supervision, including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
● Preventative Maintenance: Perform regular PMs and update the maintenance management system with assets, work orders, and PM status reports.
● Fabrication: Perform welding (MIG & TIG), plasma cutting, oxy-acetylene torch cutting, and band saw operations.
● Blueprint Reading: Read and interpret facility blueprints to assist with equipment layout and production line setup.
● Mechanical & Electrical Repair: Disassemble machinery, diagnose failures, and perform necessary repairs using electrical meters and general mechanical skills.
● Installation Support: Assist with machinery installation and startup.
● Facility Maintenance: Perform general plumbing and HVAC repairs including sinks, drains, heaters, furnaces, A/C units, ovens, and exhaust systems.
● Contractor Coordination: Assist and oversee outside contractors repairing or installing machinery.
● Material Handling: Safely operate forklifts and scissor lifts.
● Inventory Control: Manage maintenance supplies and parts inventory.
● Continuous Improvement: Participate in Trystar’s Continuous Improvement initiatives to improve reliability and team performance.
● Housekeeping & Safety: Maintain a clean work area and follow all safety policies and procedures.

What We’re Looking For
To be successful in this role, you should have the following:
Qualifications:
● High school diploma or GED required.
● Two years of technical training in industrial or building maintenance or four years of experience as an Industrial Maintenance Technician.
● Ability to read, write, and understand work instructions in English.
● Familiar with operating power tools.
● Willingness to participate in on-call maintenance rotation.
● Flexible in work hours and committed to workplace safety.

Skills:
● Troubleshooting:
Strong ability to diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
● Fabrication: Experience with MIG/TIG welding, plasma cutting, torch cutting, and band saws.
● Facility Systems: Working knowledge of plumbing, HVAC, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
● Communication: Maintains positive working relationships with employees, contractors, and leadership.
● Organization: Strong documentation, inventory control, and housekeeping skills.
● Fabrication: Experience with MIG/TIG welding, plasma cutting, torch cutting, and band saws.
