Job Summary
Are you a hands-on problem solver with expertise in electrical and mechanical systems? We’re seeking a Maintenance Technician to join a top-tier automotive supplier in Sterling Heights, MI.
You'll be essential in keeping high-tech manufacturing operations running smoothly by troubleshooting issues, performing proactive repairs, and ensuring machine reliability in a fast-paced environment.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Maintenance Technician, your core responsibilities will include:
- Maintenance & Repair: Perform electrical and mechanical maintenance on machinery and facility systems and conduct preventive maintenance to minimize downtime.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve complex equipment issues involving several variables using strong root-cause analysis abilities.
- Technical Interpretation: Interpret and use technical documentation (like blueprints and procedure manuals) to complete repairs.
- Support & Compliance: Assist in maintaining compliance with safety regulations and support cross-functional teams to improve machine reliability and plant efficiency.
- Documentation: Maintain records and documentation of all maintenance activities.
- Tool Operation: Operate hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment as needed.
What We're Looking For
To be successful in this role, you should have the following:
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum 2+ years of industrial maintenance experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems ($Ohm’s Law$, volts, watts, power consumption).
- Familiarity with RS Logix and other manufacturing software.
- Ability to read blueprints, safety rules, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write reports and communicate clearly across teams.
- Flexibility to work in various conditions (indoors, outdoors, in high places, or confined spaces).
Skills:
- Troubleshooting: Advanced ability to diagnose and resolve complex mechanical and electrical failures.
- Technical Literacy: Proficient in interpreting and utilizing technical manuals, schematics, and software.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written skills for reporting, communicating across teams, and facilitating problem-solving activities.
