Qualifications:
- 8th grade education or higher
- Two years of manufacturing experience OR one year of manufacturing experience
- MIG welding experience required; knowledge of computerized welding equipment helpful
- Ability to obtain and maintain powered industrial truck certification
Skills:
- Ability to set up, calibrate, and adjust welding equipment
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and use precision measuring equipment
- Strong manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and math aptitude
- Ability to perform first-piece inspections and quality checks
- Ability to perform preventive maintenance and basic equipment care
- Strong commitment to safety and quality standards
As a Manual Welder, not only will you perform setups and welds to produce high-quality welded components, but you’ll also complete inspections, maintain equipment, and ensure production goals are met. Depending on business needs, duties may include producing custom parts from blueprints, moving materials with industrial trucks, assisting with other operations, and supporting process improvements. You’ll also be expected to meet daily production requirements, maintain housekeeping standards, and follow all safety procedures. Physical demands include lifting up to 50 lbs, standing for extended periods, repetitive arm and hand movements, and occasional climbing of stairs or ladders, with exposure to dust, noise, heat, solvents, and large machinery. This job, depending on your work ethic, could be a short-term or a long-term fit.
