Job Summary
Workbox Staffing is seeking an experienced and motivated candidate for a Material Handler position. You will be responsible for safely moving, storing, tracking, and organizing materials/products in a warehouse or production area, including loading/unloading, using equipment like forklifts, performing inventory counts, and ensuring a clean, efficient flow of goods for smooth operations and supply chain success. This role requires precision, attention to detail, recent experience, and adherence to safety standards.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Material Handler, your core responsibilities will include:
• Operate a sit-down Forklift to move materials throughout the facility
• Load and unload materials from trucks and other transport vehicles
• Label, stocking, counting, and recording inventory, reporting shortages.
• Picking and packing orders for shipment
• Conduct daily inspections of the forklift and report any damage.
• Keeping the work areas clean, performing basic checks, and creating a safe work environment
What We're Looking For
To be successful in this role, you should have the following:
Qualifications:
• Operate a sit-down Forklift
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
• 2-3 years of experience in material handling/forklift operations
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment
• Follow safety procedures when operating an order picker
• A strong understanding of safety regulations is vital to prevent accidents
• Willingness to work and learn as part of a team to meet project deadlines
• Attention to detail for accurate inventory control
• Basic computer skills for inventory systems
Skills:
• Teamwork and Communication: Work effectively with other departments to support smooth warehouse operations
• Ability to read and speak English fluently
• Adaptability: Perform well in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and multiple tasks
• Problem-solving: Quickly think and find solutions for unexpected challenges on the job
• Time management: Efficiently manage time to meet deadlines and maintain high productivity
• Safety procedures: Understand and follow all safety regulations (OSHA), conduct pre-shift checks, and maintain a safe work environment
• Ability to lift 50 lbs or more and able to complete tasks repetitively
