Switch Truck Driver/ Material Handler

We are looking for a reliable Switch Truck Driver & Material Handler to safely move trailers, materials, and products throughout the facility and yard. This role combines driving a switch truck to move trailers in and out of dock doors with material handling tasks inside the warehouse.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate a switch truck/yard spotter to safely move trailers to and from loading docks and yard locations.
- Ensure trailers are properly positioned, locked, and secure before loading/unloading.
- Perform daily inspections of switch truck and report maintenance needs.
- Assist with loading, unloading, and staging materials using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of trailer moves, material transfers, and inventory as directed.
- Follow all safety procedures and comply with company policies and DOT regulations.
- Communicate with warehouse staff, shipping/receiving, and dispatch to coordinate trailer and material movement.
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a switch truck/yard jockey driver preferred.
- Valid driver’s license required; CDL a plus but not required (depending on employer).
- Experience with forklifts or material handling equipment strongly preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in various weather conditions when moving trailers.
