Job Summary
We're looking for a dependable and safety-focused Material Handler to join our warehouse team. This position is responsible for loading trucks, pulling and staging materials, and ensuring shipments are prepared accurately and efficiently. The ideal candidate has warehouse experience, can safely operate material handling equipment, and is committed to maintaining quality and accuracy throughout the shipping process.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Material Handler, your core responsibilities will include:
- Loading Trucks: Load materials onto trucks in route-specific order to ensure efficient deliveries.
- Pulling & Staging Materials: Pull and stage materials according to production and shipping requirements.
- Verifying Orders: Ensure materials have been pulled, tagged, and prepared accurately for shipment.
- Completing Shipping Documentation: Accurately complete bills of lading and other required shipping paperwork.
- Operating Material Handling Equipment: Safely operate forklifts and cranes to move materials throughout the facility.
- Supporting Warehouse Operations: Perform additional warehouse duties as needed to maintain efficient workflow.
In addition, you will help maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse while supporting production and shipping teams.
What We're Looking For
Qualifications
- High school diploma, training, or equivalent experience.
- Product knowledge preferred.
- Certified to operate a forklift and crane.
- Ability to follow written instructions.
- Ability to perform a variety of warehouse functions as needed.
Skills
- Material Handling: Experience pulling, staging, and loading materials accurately and efficiently.
- Equipment Operation: Ability to safely operate forklifts and overhead cranes.
- Shipping & Receiving: Understanding of shipping processes, including bills of lading and material verification.
- Measurement Tools: Ability to use tape measures, micrometers, and calipers.
- Attention to Detail: Strong accuracy when preparing and verifying shipments.
- Communication: Ability to work effectively with warehouse and production teams.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive motions throughout the shift.
- Ability to safely operate forklifts, cranes, and other material handling equipment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
