Job Summary
Are you a dependable and hardworking individual looking for an opportunity in a fast-paced distribution environment? We’re seeking a Material Mover to join our team in Muskegon, MI! In this role, you’ll support daily warehouse operations including receiving inbound shipments, packing and shipping outbound orders, inventory organization, and safe product movement throughout the distribution center. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, detail-oriented, and ready to contribute to an efficient and organized workplace.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Material Mover, your responsibilities may include:
- Unloading inbound shipments from trucks and trailers using manual and powered equipment
- Verifying incoming products against purchase orders, packing lists, and shipping documentation
- Inspecting inbound freight for damage or shortages and reporting discrepancies promptly
- Labeling, sorting, and accurately storing received products in designated warehouse locations
- Packing outbound orders according to customer specifications and carrier requirements
- Applying shipping labels, packaging materials, and required documentation to outbound shipments
- Assisting with loading outbound trailers and verifying shipments before release
- Moving products safely throughout the facility using pallet jacks, hand trucks, and material handling equipment
- Operating forklifts or reach trucks as assigned and certified
- Performing pre-shift equipment inspections and reporting maintenance concerns
- Assisting with cycle counts, physical inventory, and replenishment of pick locations
- Maintaining clean, organized, and clearly labeled work areas, aisles, and staging zones
- Following all OSHA and company safety procedures, including proper PPE usage
- Reporting unsafe conditions, near misses, accidents, or damaged inventory immediately
- Participating in safety training and continuous improvement initiatives
What We're Looking For
Qualifications
- Previous warehouse, shipping/receiving, or distribution experience preferred
- Forklift or reach truck experience preferred
- Ability to lift, move, and carry materials throughout the shift
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse environment
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy with inventory and shipping documentation
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
