Job Summary
Workbox Staffing is hiring a detail-oriented
Material Planner
to support production and supply chain operations through effective use of EDI systems. This role is responsible for managing incoming releases, monitoring inventory levels, and ensuring materials are available to meet production demands. If you have strong experience working within EDI platforms and manufacturing environments, this is a great opportunity with long-term growth potential.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Material Planner, your core responsibilities will include:
- EDI Management: Monitor and process customer releases through EDI systems.
- Production Planning Support: Analyze demand schedules and ensure materials are available to meet production requirements.
- Inventory Control: Track raw materials and finished goods to prevent shortages or overages.
- Supplier Communication: Coordinate with suppliers regarding schedules, changes, and delivery timelines.
In addition, you will maintain accurate system data, update planning parameters, generate reports, communicate schedule changes internally, and assist with continuous improvement initiatives within the supply chain process.
What We’re Looking For
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in Material Planning, Production Planning, or Supply Chain required
- Experience working with EDI systems required
- Manufacturing environment experience preferred
- Strong understanding of inventory control and customer releases
Skills & Physical Requirements:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail and data accurac
- Proficient in ERP/MRP systems
- Strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
