Job Summary
Are you a motivated and detail-oriented individual looking for a new opportunity? We're seeking a Mechanical Repair Technician to join our team in Conklin, MI. In this role, you'll be a vital part of our operations, helping us to minimize downtime, maintain a safe work environment, and improve equipment efficiency through expert repair and maintenance.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Mechanical Repair Technician, your core responsibilities will include:
- Cylinder/Valve/Pump Repair: Evaluating, disassembling, repairing, re-sealing, assembling, and testing cylinders, valves, and pumps.
- Equipment Repairs: Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, or pneumatic failures in shop equipment.
- Troubleshooting: Responding to maintenance requests and emergency breakdowns to minimize downtime, analyzing machine performance issues, and implementing solutions.
In addition, you will also be expected to clean and recondition components, follow safety protocols, document all maintenance and repair activities, and collaborate with machine operators. You will be doing machine teardown, repair, and assembly of hydraulic cylinders and valves in a job shop and field environment.
What We're Looking For
To be successful in this role, you should have the following:
Qualifications:
- Experience with Cylinder/Valve/Pump Repair.
- Ability to evaluate, disassemble, repair, re-seal, assemble, and test components.
- Ability to clean and recondition components.
- Focus on minimizing downtime, maintaining a safe work environment, and improving equipment efficiency.
- Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, or pneumatic failures in shop equipment.
- Ability to replace worn or damaged components and test repaired machinery to verify functionality.
- Ability to respond to maintenance requests and emergency breakdowns.
- Ability to analyze machine performance issues and implement solutions.
- Knowledge and adherence to safety protocols and guidelines, including OSHA standards.
- Ability to document all maintenance and repair activities, including parts used and labor hours.
- Ability to update machine maintenance logs and report recurring issues to management.
- Ability to collaborate with machine operators to identify issues and provide guidance on proper equipment usage.
- Ability to assist with machine setups and adjustments when necessary.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to perform physical activities such as climbing, bending, and working in confined spaces.
- Ability to work in environments with exposure to noise, dust, grease, and industrial chemicals.
- Must be able to read blueprints and setups on engine lathe, Bridgeport milling machine, and horizontal boring mill.
