Job Summary
We're looking for a skilled and dependable Welder to join our team. This position is responsible for producing high-quality welds on a variety of materials while following work orders, blueprints, and specifications. The ideal candidate takes pride in their craftsmanship, pays close attention to detail, and enjoys working in a team-oriented manufacturing environment.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Welder, your core responsibilities will include:
- Performing MIG Welding: Weld a variety of stock shapes, sizes, and thicknesses while maintaining quality and productivity standards.
- Reading Blueprints and Work Orders: Interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, sketches, and work instructions to complete projects accurately.
- Setting Up Welding Equipment: Select proper welding settings, including flow rate, amperage, and wire feed speed, to ensure quality welds.
- Inspecting and Measuring Work: Use measuring tools and visual inspections to verify finished products meet specifications.
- Handling Materials: Operate forklifts, hoists, and pallet trucks to move materials and completed products as needed.
- Maintaining a Safe Work Environment: Keep work areas clean and organized while following all company safety procedures.
In addition, you will document completed work, assist with material handling, and communicate production or quality concerns to supervisors as needed.
What We're Looking For
Qualifications
- Two years of welding training, related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and comprehend work orders, blueprints, CAD drawings, and rough sketches.
- U.S. work authorization required.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
Skills
- MIG Welding: Proficient in welding a variety of stock shapes, sizes, and thicknesses.
- Multi-Position Welding: Ability to weld in vertical, horizontal, and overhead positions.
- Equipment Setup: Ability to select proper flow rate, amperage, and wire feed rate for weld penetration and appearance.
- Blueprint Reading: Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Measurement and Inspection: Skilled in using tape measures and other measuring tools to verify accuracy.
- Material Handling: Experience operating forklifts, hoists, or pallet trucks.
- Communication and Problem Solving: Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with team members.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and work on your feet for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds with assistance.
- Ability to bend, reach, twist, and perform repetitive motions throughout the shift.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to welding fumes, airborne particles, and elevated noise levels.
- Ability to safely operate welding and material-handling equipment.
