Job Summary:
The Dock Auditor plays a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of goods receiving and shipping processes within a warehouse or distribution center. This position is responsible for inspecting shipments, verifying documentation, ensuring compliance with company standards, and maintaining accurate inventory records. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Audit Shipments: Verify incoming and outgoing shipments to ensure accuracy in terms of quantity, quality, and documentation.
- Record Keeping: Maintain and update detailed records of all audits, including discrepancies, damages, or issues found during inspections.
- Coordinate with Warehouse Staff: Work closely with dock workers, drivers, and warehouse personnel to resolve discrepancies or issues found during audits.
- Inspect Goods: Perform quality checks on products and materials, checking for damage or irregularities before products are received or shipped.
- Report Discrepancies: Document and report any discrepancies or damages found during inspections to management, and assist in investigating the root cause.
- Verify Compliance: Ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory standards, including checking that safety protocols are being followed during shipping and receiving processes.
- Conduct Inventory Checks: Perform regular audits of inventory to ensure the physical stock matches the system records.
- Assist in Problem Resolution: Help resolve any issues regarding inventory discrepancies, damaged goods, or incorrect shipments in a timely manner.
- Maintain Equipment: Ensure that dock audit equipment (e.g., scanners, tools, etc.) is functioning properly and report any maintenance needs.
- Collaboration with Management: Collaborate with the management team to improve audit processes and procedures for greater efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in warehouse operations, auditing, or logistics is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of warehouse management systems and inventory control practices is a plus.
- Ability to use basic office software (e.g., MS Office) and scanning equipment.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks at once .
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 lbs.
- Stand or walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
- Bend, kneel, and reach frequently.
