Location: Newaygo, MI Shift: 2nd shift Pay: $21.37 per hour
Job Summary
Workbox Staffing is seeking a Paint Mixer for an opportunity in Newaygo, MI. In this role, you will prepare and supply paint materials to the production line while supporting safe, accurate, and efficient mix-kitchen operations.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Paint Mixer, your core responsibilities will include:
Interpret the daily paint schedule, prepare mix sheets, and mix paint to specifications.
Check paint temperature and viscosity to ensure materials meet required standards.
Unload, flush, and reload recirculating paint systems while maintaining daily usage records.
Track raw material and paint inventory with an RF gun and keep storage areas organized.
Maintain control documents and perform general maintenance on pumps, agitators, vats, drums, and spinner lids.
Maintain 5S standards and general housekeeping in the mix kitchen and red-tag room.
Properly store, handle, transport, and dispose of hazardous and regulated waste, including waste paint and purge.
Receive paint and chemical suppliers and coordinate hazardous-waste pickups.
Training will take place on first shift before moving to the assigned shift. The role reports to the Paint Shift Team Coordinator and regularly receives directions from the Paint Engineer.

To be successful in this role, you should have the following:
Qualifications
Ability to read and write well.
Ability to perform simple math.
Ability to train on first shift before transferring to the assigned shift.
Skills
Strong attention to detail when monitoring viscosity, temperature, and other critical paint conditions.
Ability to follow schedules, mix sheets, specifications, and safety procedures.
Organization and accuracy in inventory tracking, recordkeeping, and housekeeping.
