Press OperatorLocation: Grand Ledge, MI Shift: 5:00 am – 3:30 PM Mon -Thu any OT will be on Friday.Pay: $17.27 Job SummaryWe’re looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Press Operator to join a busy molding and production team. In this role, you will operate presses, mix resin, prepare molds, inspect finished parts, and complete required documentation. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, mechanically inclined, and able to follow detailed production specifications. What You’ll Be DoingPour resin onto fiberglass sheets according to production specification sheets. Track production counts using counters and complete required paperwork. Clean molds using air hoses, apply mold wax, and prepare materials for production. Measure and mix resin and catalyst using dipsticks and air mixers. Operate presses safely and efficiently. Place fiberglass sheets into molds and verify part accuracy using fixtures and measurement tools. Work with robotics to verify water jet accuracy during first-part runs. Inspect parts for defects, perform minor repairs, and complete rework as needed. Adjust mold compression timing and temperature as instructed. Replace empty resin barrels and maintain clean buckets and molds. Conduct first-part runs, complete SPC charts, and obtain supervisor approval. Stamp parts with date and lot numbers. Clean resin run-out, gel coat, and machine beds. Record measurements on ratio logs and calculate mix ratios three times per shift. Report production numbers to supervisors. Troubleshoot production issues as part of a team. Review production boards to determine job numbers, lot numbers, and resin requirements. Spray adhesive and place tags as required. Complete Mix Ratio Logs and perform testing as needed per lab instructions. What We’re Looking ForQualifications:High school diploma or GED required. Ability to follow detailed work instructions and production specifications. Strong attention to detail and mechanical aptitude. Safety-focused and able to work in a fast-paced environment. Prior molding or finishing experience preferred but not required. Skills:Ability to operate presses and related molding equipment. Basic math and measurement skills. Ability to perform minor part repairs and quality checks. Strong teamwork and communication skills.
