Production Operator – Draw Block Machine – $18/hr – Romulus, MI
We are looking for a dependable and detail-oriented
Production Operator
to operate wire drawing machines in our Romulus facility. This role is focused on producing superior quality wire while maintaining high production levels and following all safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate wire drawing machines following all plant procedures
- Thread-up and operate wire drawing machines, ensuring proper die set-up for correct size and quality
- Monitor wire cleanliness, size, and surface to ensure top quality standards are met
- Read and follow written instructions to meet customer demands
- Use a computer for inventory tracking and product traceability
- Move steel coils and spools using a forklift to stage raw and finished materials
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
- Report any safety or production concerns to supervisory staff
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma preferred, not required
- Mechanical aptitude for routine set-up and basic maintenance of drawing machines
- Ability to lift and maneuver up to 50 lbs
- Strong attention to detail with ability to read and follow instructions
- Accurate record-keeping skills
- Forklift operation experience required
- Reliable attendance and willingness to work overtime as needed
