Production  Operator (Heat Treat)
Location:  Detroit, MI  Shift:  1st  (12’s, 4 d ays/week )  Pay:  $19.00/hr

Job Summary
Workbox Staffing is hiring Heat Treat Machine Operators in Detroit, MI for a growing metal processing facility. This role involves loading and unloading furnaces, moving materials throughout production, and operating automated systems used in the heat treat process. The ideal candidate has forklift experience, manufacturing experience, and is comfortable working with automated equipment and computer systems.

What You’ll Be Doing
As a Heat Treat Machine Operator, your core responsibilities will include:
  • Furnace Operation:  Load and unload materials into heat treat furnaces during the production process.
  • Material Movement:  Use an electric pallet jack and forklift to move materials throughout the production area.
  • Automated Systems:   Operate  automated production systems and follow work instructions for machine operation.
  • Computer Usage:   Utilize  computer systems to support production processes and equipment  operation .
  • Safety & Equipment Monitoring:  Learn and follow equipment fail safes, operational procedures, and understand proper machine controls.
Additional duties may include supporting team projects and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.

What We’re Looking For
Qualifications:
  • Forklift experience is required
  • Previous manufacturing experience required
  • Basic computer literacy  required
  • Stable work history and longevity preferred
  • Experience in machine operation or heat treat environments is a plus
Skills & Physical Requirements:
  • Comfortable working with automated systems and production equipment
  • Strong attention to detail and safety awareness
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the shift
  • Ability to  lift up  to 50 pounds as needed
  • Comfortable working in a hot manufacturing environment
Work Environment & Dress Code
  • Environment:  Industrial heat treat setting; warm temperatures, automated systems, and team-oriented environment
  • Dress Code:  Steel toe boots and work-appropriate manufacturing attire  required
