Production Supervisor
Location: Norton Shores, MI, 3rd Shift, $65,000–$75,000 per year (Based on Experience)
Job Summary
Are you a results-driven leader with a passion for safety, quality, and team development? We’re seeking a Production Supervisor
to join our team in Norton Shores, MI. In this role, you’ll lead a team of 13 employees across multiple molding lines while driving performance in Safety, Quality, Production, and Cost. You’ll play a key role in creating a safe, efficient, and positive work environment while ensuring production goals are consistently met.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Production Supervisor, your core responsibilities will include:
- Team Leadership: Supervise and support a team of 13 employees across four greensand molding lines and one air-set molding line, including Melt Techs and Quality staff.
- Safety & Compliance: Foster the safest environment possible by enforcing all NFCA and MIOSHA rules and regulations.
- Production Oversight: Monitor daily production, ensure proper setup with required BOM items, and verify accurate reporting of production and downtime.
- Performance Management: Address performance issues and conflicts while building a positive, team-oriented culture.
- Scheduling & Labor Management: Manage staffing schedules and labor resources to maximize efficiency and meet production demands.
- Communication: Keep the team informed of daily concerns, priorities, and productivity goals.
- Inventory Control: Maintain monthly inventories of supplies and materials as directed by the Plant Manager.
In addition, you will also be expected to complete special projects and other duties as assigned to support plant operations.
What We’re Looking For
Qualifications:
- Proven supervisory or leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards
- Experience managing production teams and multiple manufacturing lines
- Ability to read and interpret production data, reports, and BOMs
Skills:
- Leadership: Ability to motivate, coach, and develop team members.
- Organization: Strong scheduling, planning, and inventory management skills.
- Problem Solving: Ability to address production challenges and resolve team conflicts effectively.
- Communication: Clear, professional communication across all levels of the organization.
