Job Summary
Workbox Staffing is hiring a Production Supervisor
for a weekend-only opportunity supporting a fast-paced manufacturing operation specializing in plastic processing and production. This role is ideal for an experienced production leader looking to pick up additional hours while overseeing operations, driving productivity, and maintaining quality and safety standards on the floor.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Production Supervisor, your core responsibilities will include:
- Production Line Setup: Prepare and ensure the production line is ready for operation at the start of each shift.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and direct line workers, ensuring productivity and efficiency.
- Workforce Management: Adjust staffing levels as needed, including flexing workers in and out based on production demand.
- Cross-Department Communication: Coordinate with maintenance, blending, and other production departments to keep operations running smoothly.
- Quality & Safety Oversight: Enforce safety standards and ensure all products meet quality expectations.
- Production Scheduling: Help manage workflow and production timelines.
- 5S & Organization: Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workspace.
- End-of-Shift Responsibilities: Complete necessary paperwork and secure the facility at the end of the shift.
What We’re Looking For
Qualifications:
- Previous leadership experience in a manufacturing/production environment required (not warehouse)
- Ability to communicate effectively with multiple departments
- Must be able to work weekends only
Skills & Physical Requirements:
- Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable working in dirty, hot, or cold conditions depending on the season
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
- Reliable and able to maintain strong attendance
Shift & Employment Details
- Schedule: Saturday & Sunday, 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- Must arrive approximately 15 minutes early and may stay briefly after shift for reporting
- Weekend-only schedule – ideal for those seeking additional income
- Contract-to-hire opportunity
Work Environment & PPE Requirements
- Environment: Manufacturing setting; dirty, temperature varies by season, fast-paced
- PPE Required: Work boots required
- Dress Code: Jeans or Dickies with a plain shirt (no profanity or political content)
