Production Machine Operation 1st Shift $17/hour Fort Wayne Local Fort Wayne Company supplies one of the highest rated cable reels across the US. This small, yet high volume production shop is looking for a member to join their skilled team long term and full time! Duties will include: Operation of punch press and various similar machines Operation of jig welding equipment Ability to learn set up and change over procedures Responsible for inventory and production count tracking Responsible for quality inspection and material handling Responsible for meeting daily quota to fill customer orders Responsible for loading/unloading materials Additional duties as assigned by supervisor Requirements Must be able to lift 50-75 lbs Must be able to read basic blueprints Organizational Skills Experience related to machine operation and/or mechanical assembly Must have Valid Drivers License and reliable transportation Must be able to work scheduled shift and overtime as needed Mechanical aptitude, welding experience, CDL and/or tool & die experience a plus! What You’ll Be DoingAs a Production Machine Operator, your core responsibilities will include: Operating punch press and similar production machines to support daily manufacturing needs. Operating jig welding equipment safely and efficiently. Learning and performing machine setup and changeover procedures as needed. Tracking inventory and production counts to maintain accurate records. Performing quality inspections and material handling to ensure product standards are met. Meeting daily production quotas to fulfill customer orders. Loading and unloading materials throughout the shift. Completing additional duties as assigned by your supervisor. What We’re Looking ForQualifications Ability to lift 50–75 lbs regularly. Ability to read basic blueprints. Strong organizational skills. Experience in machine operation and/or mechanical assembly. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Ability to work scheduled shift and overtime as needed. SkillsMechanical Aptitude: Essential for operating machines, troubleshooting issues, and supporting production processes. Quality & Accuracy: Important for inspections, measurements, and maintaining production standards. Teamwork & Communication: Helps coordinate with leads and other team members to maintain workflow. Safety Awareness: Required for working around machinery, welding equipment, and material handling.
