Job Summary
Are you someone who enjoys machine operation, problem-solving, and producing quality stamped parts? We’re seeking a Prog Press Operator to join our Press Department in Holland, MI. In this role, you’ll be a vital part of the production team, helping operate progressive stamping presses while ensuring parts meet quality and safety standards.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Prog Press Operator, your core responsibilities will include:
- Press Setup & Operation: Set up and operate progressive stamping presses to trim, punch, notch, or shape metal parts.
- Inspection & Quality Control: Inspect parts using calipers, micrometers, scales, and other measuring tools to ensure specifications are met.
- Production Documentation: Complete production tags, lot tags, and quality documentation accurately.
In addition, you will also be expected to run material, adjust feeds, troubleshoot minor press or setup issues, maintain safe work practices, and communicate production or quality concerns to supervision.
What We’re Looking For
To be successful in this role, you should have the following:
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- One to three months of related experience and/or training preferred
- Ability to operate a company hi-lo and overhead crane
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
Skills:
- Press Operation Knowledge: Ability to set up and operate progressive power presses and understand die setups.
- Measurement & Inspection Skills: Experience using micrometers, calipers, and other measuring devices for quality checks.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot tool-related issues versus machine or setting adjustments.
- Documentation Accuracy: Ability to complete production reports and documentation correctly.
