Job Summary
Are you a motivated and detail-oriented individual looking for a new opportunity? We're seeking a Quality Inspector
to join our team in Saline, MI. In this role, you’ll be a key part of maintaining product quality and ensuring customer specifications are met before products are released.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Quality
Inspector, your core responsibilities will include:
- First Piece & In-Process Inspections: Perform first piece inspections at job changeovers and monitor production to ensure compliance with assembly instructions throughout the build process.
- Final Inspection & Pre-Shipment Audits: Conduct final inspections and pre-shipment audits to verify part accuracy, labeling, packaging, quantities, and overall product quality before shipment.
- On-Floor Quality Support: Maintain a consistent presence on the production floor, serving as the visible quality resource for operators and leaders while reinforcing quality standards and identifying potential issues early.
In addition, you will also be expected to document inspection results, escalate nonconformance or quality concerns to engineering or supervision, use precision measuring tools, and support any additional quality-related tasks as assigned.
What We're Looking For
To be successful in this role, you should have the following:
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of quality inspection experience in a manufacturing environment (automotive experience strongly preferred)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical duties in a production environment
- Experience performing in-process, first piece, and/or final inspections
Skills:
- Attention to Detail: Critical for identifying defects, ensuring compliance with specifications, and maintaining product quality standards.
- Technical Measurement Skills: Ability to independently use calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and thread gauges to verify part accuracy.
- Blueprint & Quality Knowledge: Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and work within automotive quality standards to ensure compliance and consistency.
