Workbox Staffing is hiring Recycle Operators in Eaton Rapids.
A day in the life working in this position looks like working 3, 12 hours shifts, with 4 days off, and repeat! You will be working with the Die Cast Department to efficiently and effectively set-up and operate equipment within a die cast cell to ensure a quality product is produced and delivered that consistently satisfies/exceeds the customers expectation. You will be remounting and scrapping long, cubical materials around 35lbs.

Qualifications:
Reliable transportation to get to and from work
Highschool diploma or equivalent
Able to work overtime
Regular and punctual attendance
Comfortable working in a team and able to get along with coworkers
Willingness to learn, grow, and develop skills
Skills:
Previous experience in manufacturing – minimum 6 months. 1 year preferred
Able to lift 50lbs, stand on feet for shift, bend, and twist at the waist
Comfortable using hand tools
Strong communication skills
Maintain a safe and clean work environment
Other duties as assigned

Job Summary
Are you a dependable and safety-focused individual looking for a long-term opportunity in manufacturing? We’re seeking a Recycle Operator to join our team in Grand Rapids, MI. In this role, you’ll support the recycling and remelt operations within a fast-paced foundry environment, ensuring safe material handling, proper melt processes, and high-quality output. You’ll play a key role in maintaining production flow, reducing scrap, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Recycle Operator, your core responsibilities will include:
? Maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work area to support zero-incident goals.
? Supporting daily recycling and remelt operations, including feeding grade-1 scrap into remelt furnaces.
? Monitoring oxide levels and melt quality to meet customer specifications.
? Tracking and reducing melt loss, dross, and scrap with a target of <7% melt loss.
? Ensuring equipment uptime and supporting the department goal of 90% utilization.
? Following process checklists to maintain quality and process stability.
? Working collaboratively with material handlers, quality technicians, and production leadership.
? Supporting cross-functional teamwork and backing up other positions as needed.
? Reporting any unsafe conditions or quality concerns immediately to a supervisor.
? Performing additional duties as assigned to support production goals.What We’re Looking For
Qualifications:
? High school diploma or equivalent.
? Mechanical aptitude and ability to use basic hand tools.
? Ability to operate a lift truck and overhead crane (or willingness to learn).
? Strong attention to safety and quality.
? Dependable attendance and strong work ethic.
? Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
? Willingness to participate in training and continuous improvement activities.Skills:
? Safety Awareness: Essential for working around furnaces, molten materials, and heavy equipment.
? Mechanical Aptitude: Useful for understanding melt processes and equipment operation.
? Problem-Solving: Ability to identify issues and take appropriate action to maintain quality and safety.
Physical Requirements:
? Ability to stand, walk, climb, twist, bend, grasp, and lift up to 50 lbs.
? Ability to visually inspect materials and equipment.
? Ability to tolerate physical demands for up to 12 hours per day.
? Ability to hear instructions and communicate in a loud manufacturing environment.
Work Environment:
? Automotive manufacturing environment with exposure to industrial hazards, loud noises, and hot/humid conditions.
? Shop environment (75%): exposure to heat, noise, and standard industrial tools.
? Production environment (25%): exposure to extreme temperatures during summer and winter months.
? Shift work with overtime as required.
