Secondary Machine Designer, $24–$30/hr – Imlay City, MI
We’re seeking a skilled Secondary Machine Designer to join our team in Imlay City, MI. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in machine/fixture design and the ability to take a project from lineup and part math data through to detailed drawings. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity with strong potential for long-term growth.
Shift & Schedule:
- Day shift
- 40 hours per week, with overtime as required
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in the machine/fixture design industry
- Experience with secondary machine design is required
- Proficiency in VISI CAD software is preferred (cross-training available for candidates experienced in secondary machine design but not VISI)
- Strong blueprint and technical drawing interpretation skills
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to develop detailed designs from provided data
Skills & Responsibilities:
- Design secondary machines and create individual part details from provided line-up and part math data
- Ensure all designs meet safety, quality, and efficiency standards
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to meet project requirements
- Troubleshoot and adjust designs as needed for accuracy and efficiency
- Maintain accurate documentation of designs and revisions
- Support continuous improvement of tooling and machine design processes
