Job Summary
The Security Guard reports to the Security Supervisor and is responsible for maintaining the safety and security of the plant, grounds, and work site. This role includes monitoring access, inspecting shipments, patrolling the facility, and responding to emergencies. The Security Guard plays a critical role in ensuring operational safety and regulatory compliance, especially during non-business hours, weekends, and holidays.

The Security Guard plays a critical role in ensuring operational safety and regulatory compliance, especially during non-business hours, weekends, and holidays.
Responsibilities for the Security Guard Opening
- Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, contractors, vendors, and visitors
- Issue and track badges for all visitors, vendors, and contractors
- Track and report bulk tanker deliveries to blend room personnel
- Verify seal numbers and integrity for all incoming and outgoing trucks
- Inspect trailer doors and seals per SQF procedures
- Monitor and review security camera footage
- Patrol facility premises to detect signs of intrusion or unsafe conditions
- Check refrigeration and freezer temperatures, including blend tanks, during off-hours
- Follow and complete weekend rounds checklists
- Monitor and report trash, pest issues, leaks, or other facility emergencies
- Submit daily activity and incident reports to the Director of Transportation
- Monitor and communicate severe weather updates to the crisis management team
- Contact emergency responders (police, fire) as needed
Key Qualifications for Security Guard Openings
- High attention to detail and integrity
- Excellent communication and observational skills
- Ability to remain calm in emergency situations
- Comfortable with routine physical patrols and working independently
- Familiarity with documentation and reporting procedures
Preferred Skills for Security Guard Openings
- Prior security experience or military/law enforcement background
- Basic computer and surveillance equipment proficiency
- Knowledge of SQF or food safety protocols is a plus
- Ability to interpret and follow procedures and checklists
