Process Technician
Location: Elkhart, IN
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Process Technician to oversee and support all operations related to injection molding equipment in Elkhart, IN. This role is responsible for ensuring injection molding machines, robots, dryers, grinders, and related equipment operate efficiently and produce quality parts. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting skills, and the ability to manage changeovers and equipment maintenance in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Starting Pay: $20.00/hour, with higher wages available based on experience, technical skill level, and demonstrated injection molding expertise.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Install correct molds and inserts into designated injection molding machines
- Perform mold and tool changeovers based on production schedules
- Prep and mix raw materials for production runs
- Monitor and respond to machine alarms
- Troubleshoot and correct part defects and machine faults
- Add oil and lubricants to equipment as needed
- Change machine fan filters and perform routine maintenance
- Clean dryers, grinders, hoppers, and machines during and after changeovers
- Ensure proper tool usage and store tools appropriately after use
- Identify and report equipment issues or potential concerns to the Plant Manager
- Communicate effectively with machine operators and Quality personnel
- Comply with all company policies and procedures
- Support departmental and company production objectives
Qualifications
- Previous experience in injection molding or plastics manufacturing preferred
- Experience performing mold changes and equipment troubleshooting
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to work with production machinery
- Ability to follow instructions and production schedules
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
