Shipping & Receiving Coordinator
to join our team in Walker, MI. In this role, you'll be a vital part of our operations, helping to ensure accurate order fulfillment, safe handling and packaging of components, improving production flows, maintaining an organized and stocked inventory, and interacting with multiple team facets to ensure success.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a
Shipping & Receiving Coordinator
, your core responsibilities will include:
- Shipping: Packing finished goods to ensure safe and undamaged delivery to our customers. Setting up delivery using approved transit companies or freight brokers and completing all associated paperwork. Coordinating with customer delivery contact to ensure we’re delivering items to the appropriate location, contact person and within their receiving window.
- Receiving Products: Accept incoming shipments, verify quantities, ensure Receivers are recorded correctly in ERP system and deliver to appropriate location in Shop.
- Job Kit Management: Using the Bill of Material for job, creating job buckets to organize incoming materials for jobs. Monitoring status of BOM items and ensuring all items are received and ready by the job’s full kit due date.
- Inventory Management : Monitoring inventory of stocked metal bars & plates, notifying purchasing when items need to be ordered.
- Outside Services: Coordinating delivery of materials to outside services vendors with associated paperwork, tracking status and ensuring receipt of material back to Shop by due date.
- Material Handling: Utilizing both a sit-down forklift, overhead crane , and manual material handling to maneuver and transport items throughout the worksite
In addition, you will also be expected to adapt to growing responsibilities as the department expands and support other team members to meet operational goals. This role is suited for a self-starter and individual that functions well being organized, proactive, and highly detail-orientated.
What We’re Looking For
To be successful in this role, you should have the following:
Qualifications:
- Previous shipping and receiving experience
- Previous experience working with shipping vendors and placing shipping orders
- Experience operating a forklift
- Excellent use of computer systems and online systems to accomplish job duties
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
