Job Summary
Are you an experienced logistics professional with a passion for leading warehouse operations and improving supply chain efficiency? We're seeking a Logistics Shipping/Receiving Manager to join our team in Jackson, MI. In this role, you'll oversee shipping, receiving, inventory, and transportation operations while helping ensure products are delivered accurately, safely, and on time. What You'll Be Doing
As a Logistics Shipping/Receiving Manager, your core responsibilities will include:
Warehouse & Distribution Management: Oversee daily shipping, receiving, inventory control, and warehouse operations while ensuring accurate processing of inbound and outbound shipments.
Transportation & Supply Chain Coordination: Manage freight planning, carrier relationships, transportation schedules, and vendor negotiations to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
Inventory & Process Improvement: Utilize ERP and warehouse management systems to monitor inventory, analyze performance data, resolve supply chain issues, and implement continuous process improvements.
In addition, you will supervise warehouse personnel, ensure compliance with safety and trade regulations, manage procurement activities, and prepare reports to support operational decision-making.
What We're Looking For
To be successful in this role, you should have the following:
Qualifications:
- Previous experience managing shipping, receiving, warehouse, or logistics operations.
- Experience working with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), ERP systems such as SAP or AS400, and Transportation Management Systems (TMS).
- Strong understanding of inventory management, procurement, transportation, and supply chain operations.
- Experience supervising warehouse personnel and maintaining a safe work environment.
- Ability to analyze data and identify opportunities for process improvement.
Skills:
Leadership: Ability to lead warehouse teams, prioritize daily operations, and ensure production and shipping goals are achieved.
Analytical Thinking: Strong problem-solving skills with experience using data to improve operational efficiency and resolve supply chain challenges.
Technical Proficiency: Proficient with Microsoft Excel and ERP systems, with experience using supply chain analytics and reporting tools such as Tableau and SQL preferred.
