Job Title Special Education Paraprofessional Location Grand Rapids, MI Pay $16.68 -$17.00/hr Shift 5.9 hours per day – School Year Position Job Summary: Seeking a Special Education Paraprofessional to support students with special needs under the supervision of a classroom teacher and per students’ IEPs. In this role, you will assist with academic instruction, behavioral support, and daily activities to ensure a safe, supportive, and effective learning environment. The ideal candidate will have experience working with youth, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work as part of a team. Responsibilities: ● Assist teachers with classroom instruction, curriculum adaptation, and academic support for students with special needs. ● Provide physical support to students, including mobility, hygiene, and use of health devices as needed. ● Monitor and support student behavior using interventions and calming techniques. ● Escort and supervise students during school activities, lunch, recess, field trips, and community outings. ● Maintain a safe, supportive, and organized learning environment while following confidentiality and school procedures. ● Attend staff meetings and professional learning sessions as required. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications: ● Associate’s degree preferred. ● Experience in an academic or educational environment is helpful. ● Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist students physically. ● Strong communication, organizational, and recordkeeping skills, with a reliable, punctual work ethic and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
