Sr. Scan Technician
Location: Grand Haven, MI Pay: $30+ / hour
Job Summary
Are you a detail-oriented professional with a passion for precision measurement and cutting-edge technology? We’re seeking a Scan Technician to join our team in Grand Haven, MI. In this role, you’ll use advanced scanning equipment to capture detailed images and measurements of components and products for quality control, product development, and process improvement. This position requires technical expertise, analytical thinking, and experience in advanced metrology methods such as CT scanning, NDT Level 1, PolyWorks, and Volume Graphics.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Scan Technician, your core responsibilities will include:
- Operating 3D scanners, CMMs, and CT scanning systems to capture accurate images and measurements of manufactured parts.
- Following scanning procedures to ensure consistency and reliability of collected data.
- Performing NDT Level 2 inspections and ensuring all data meets industry and company quality standards.
- Analyzing scan data using PolyWorks and Volume Graphics software to create detailed dimensional reports and visual analyses.
- Collaborating with engineering, quality, and production teams to interpret scan results, identify defects or deviations, and recommend corrective actions.
- Performing equipment calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting to ensure optimal performance.
- Documenting scan processes, parameters, and results in accordance with company policies and quality requirements.
- Participating in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize scanning processes and enhance efficiency.
What We're Looking For
To be successful in this role, you should have the following:
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or degree preferred.
- Previous experience operating 3D scanners, CT scanners, or CMMs in a manufacturing or metrology environment.
- NDT Level 2 certification required.
- Familiarity with GD&T principles and quality control standards.
Skills:
- Proficiency in PolyWorks, Volume Graphics, and other scanning/inspection software.
- Ability to analyze, interpret, and present detailed 3D measurement data.
- Strong technical aptitude and understanding of precision measurement tools and processes.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy, safety, and continuous improvement.
