to join a busy steel warehouse team. In this role, you’ll help keep warehouse operations running smoothly by assisting with material handling, shipping, inventory, and maintaining an organized work environment.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a
Warehouse Laborer
, your core responsibilities will include:
- Material Handling: Safely load, unload, move, and organize steel materials using warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, and other material handling tools.
- Order Fulfillment & Shipping: Assist with fulfilling customer orders by retrieving materials, packaging products, labeling shipments, securing loads, and preparing items for shipment.
- Inventory & Warehouse Support: Accurately record incoming and outgoing materials, put away inventory, inspect products for quality concerns, and maintain a clean, organized warehouse environment.
In addition, you will assist with loading and unloading trucks, perform routine equipment checks, support warehouse organization efforts, and work closely with team members to maintain productivity and safety standards.
What We’re Looking For
To be successful in this role, you should have the following:
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a steel plant is required
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physical labor throughout the shift.
- Experience operating forklifts or pallet jacks is a plus.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong attendance and reliability required.
Skills:
- Safety Awareness: Follow MIOSHA safety standards and wear required PPE.
- Organization: Maintain accurate inventory and keep the warehouse clean and orderly.
- Teamwork: Work effectively with warehouse staff to support daily operations.
- Communication: Strong communication skills and ability to report issues as needed.
