Automotive Quality Team Lead
Location: Jackson, MI Shift: 1st Shift, 6:00 AM–4:00 PM, Monday–Friday, with weekends as needed Pay: $24/hr
Job Summary
We are looking for a dependable and experienced Automotive Quality Team Lead to oversee sorting, inspection, and rework projects within an automotive manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for leading inspection teams, coordinating daily job activities, ensuring quality standards are met, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment. The ideal candidate has previous quality inspection experience in a supervisory or team lead role and is flexible with scheduling, overtime, and weekends.
What You’ll Be Doing
Supervise employees performing sorting, inspection, containment, and rework projects
Oversee product inspections to ensure customer quality standards are met
Coordinate shift startup activities, including workstation setup, materials, and paperwork
Ensure tools, supplies, and work instructions are available for each job
Train employees on new work instructions and inspection procedures
Monitor employee performance and provide feedback to management
Audit paperwork and timesheets at the end of each shift
Communicate job updates and outstanding tasks to the next shift's Team Lead
Ensure employees follow safety policies and company procedures
Report accidents, incidents, and policy violations to management
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Remain flexible to work additional hours, overtime, and weekends based on customer needs
What We’re Looking For
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or higher preferred
Previous quality inspection experience in a supervisory or team lead role required
Three years of supervisory experience preferred
Automotive manufacturing experience preferred
Strong leadership, organization, and problem-solving skills
Basic math skills required
Ability to communicate instructions clearly and train others
Microsoft Office experience preferred
Fluent in English, including reading, writing, and speaking
Dependable, mature, and accountable with strong attendance
Ability to follow instructions and complete assigned tasks
Flexible schedule, including overtime and weekends as needed
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand for extended periods
Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
Comfortable working in an automotive manufacturing environment
