Job Summary
We're seeking a dependable and experienced
Supervisor / Team Lead
to oversee quality inspection, sorting, and containment activities throughout automotive manufacturing facilities across the Metro Detroit area. This position is ideal for a mature, hands-on leader who can effectively manage inspection teams, coordinate multiple jobs, and ensure quality and safety standards are consistently met. Candidates must be flexible, reliable, and willing to travel between customer locations as needed.
What You'll Be Doing
As a
Supervisor / Team Lead
, your core responsibilities will include:
Team Leadership:
Lead quality inspection, sorting, containment, and rework teams while ensuring employees follow work instructions, maintain productivity, and perform tasks safely and effectively.
Project Coordination:
Oversee multiple customer jobs, coordinate shift-start and end-of-shift activities, ensure proper staffing levels, maintain required paperwork, and communicate job status updates to management and incoming team leads.
Quality & Safety Oversight:
Monitor inspection activities, ensure quality standards are met, promote housekeeping and organization, enforce safety procedures, and report incidents, concerns, or policy violations as required.
In addition, you will provide on-the-job training, maintain accountability for personnel assigned to projects, ensure necessary tools and materials are available, assist with audits and documentation, and support customer requirements across multiple facilities.
What We're Looking For
To be successful in this role, you should have the following:
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree or higher preferred.
- Previous quality inspection experience required.
- Previous supervisory or team lead experience required.
- Automotive manufacturing experience preferred.
- Ability to travel throughout the Metro Detroit area and support multiple customer locations.
- Ability to work overtime, weekends, and additional hours as needed.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 35 pounds.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.

- Leadership: Ability to lead teams, provide direction, and maintain accountability.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Organization: Ability to manage multiple projects, employees, and customer requirements simultaneously.
- Problem Solving: Ability to address quality concerns and implement corrective actions.
- Computer Skills: Experience with Microsoft Office programs is preferred.
- Reliability: Strong attendance, professionalism, and commitment to customer satisfaction.
